Join up with me,
So you can see,
Hell's dark brew a-bleeding.
Breathe out the air,
All's foul and fair, when
The Siren's Song is pleading.

Labadoozee

This narrative is starting to get ridiculous! This one will be the last unless i get some sort of responce saing that people are interested in the rest. With that: Day Three!:

Third day (monday) we woke up and were docked in the southern tip of Heiti-more accurately we were at a large strip of land that Royal Caribbean had purchased, and called the whole thing Labadee. The actual area consists of four beaches that round the coastline, with small tropical mountains in between. People traversed between these by some covered off-road vehicle that held about 20 people. There are different things to do at each beach, and the farther the beach is away from the ship, the less crowded the beach became. Also-to give a good visual picture, i have a photo of me, jason, and some girl that jason was hanging out with. she has a coconut that she knocked down from a palm tree, that i busted open so she could taste the milk. i tried it too. it was horrid.

Everyone gets to the island by ferry, and once you get off there is always a couple photographers that line you up with a background they've selected and take your picture. The first beach that we went to was only reasonably crowded, and i basically took off from my parents and went off on my own. i found some friends and hung out with them for a bit, then went and signed up for parasailing with Jason. I've always really wanted to go, and i had heard great things about it, but to be honest it was only ok. i'm kind of an adrenaline junkie, and parasailing is more gorgeously serene than anything else. don't get me wrong-i liked it, i just prefer something that includes possible severe bodily harm. however, one of the people staffing the parasailing boat was this lady from South Africa, about 22, and extremely pretty. i have a thing for accents, so i spent the entire boat ride (except for the time i was up in the air) asking her to tell me stories about growing up in South Africa. she was very cool.

i got back to labadee just in time to start the other thing i had signed up for-wave running. I've done it many times before, every time in the ocean, so to say the least i know what i'm doing. the way the wave-running is set up is that its kind of a tour, but its a tour when you're on this motorcraft that tops out at 74 mph, over swells that make you fly through the air. it includes about 11 people actually on the tour, and two guides. the order in which you follow the person in front of you is determined by experience, and the closer to being first you are the faster you get to go (because you follow the guides, who just haul ass the whole way). i went first. so yeah, i really liked it. at one point there were swells that actually made the guides slow down, and when i hit the same ones i probably spent more time in the air than i did on the water. way fun. by the time i got back to the island it was time to head back up to the boat, but there was a HUGE line for the ferry. i thought about it, and decided that standing in line with sweaty sticky people waiting for a ferry that i would end up getting on anyway was not my idea of fun, so i headed towards the bar. the bar was basically a patio, but it had ceiling fans so i figured it was the best place to chill while the line died down. i ordered a labadoozee (these drinks were all over the island, guys with a tray of them yelling "labadoozee! come get your island drink!") which consisted of several things i did not know of but were sweet, and rum. Very good. Then i got the brilliant idea that more than likely somebody at the front of the line would know me and call me over. So, i walked over to the front of the line and sure enough i hear "Hey Kyle!!", and i proceeded to walk over and stand in line with these two girls that i did not know.

once i was back on the boat, i took a shower and headed up to fuel. the usual routine of dinner and dancing that night, except after the dance (ends at 1), i ran over to Johnny Rockets where me and about 4 other people got burgers and fries, all FREE because all food is included in the ticket price. Man oh man, i love johnny rockets.

Mmm hamburgers...
